New opportunities for gender equality? ! PRSPs en SWAPs from a gender perspective

This easy-to-read publication seeks to contribute to the reflection process on an approach and a set of instruments that are geared towards the evolution in development thinking and practice. The note first argues why a gender dimension is best integrated into the evolving aid modalities.  The extent to which PRSPs and SWAPs in practice take into account lessons learned is examined. Finally, the note discusses a number of avenues for making the new forms of aid more gender-sensitive, taking into account the basic principles of the new aid instruments.

National Report and the Status of Women and Gender Equality in Albania

The National Report on the Status of Women and Gender Equality (NRSWGE) in Albania is the first national report serves as the substantive basis to analyse the overall situation of women and men in Albania. Nine policy areas of key importance to gender equality are covered: national development indicators, demographics, legal frameworks and institutional mechanisms, health, education, work, entrepreneurship and property rights, social policies and social services, political representation and participation, and domestic violence.

Morocco Gender Report 2008

This checklist is meant to assist programme managers and thematic advisors in donor agencies to advance gender equality and women's empowerment within the framework of the Paris Declaration on aid effectiveness. It is also meant to help in asking crucial questions regarding gaps and opportunities for gender mainstreaming in the new aid modalities with a special emphasis on gender responsive budgeting. The document was published by the Austrian Development Cooperation in 2009.

Macro or Microstreaming Gender Economics? (Mexico)

Local Level Gender Responsive Budget Initiatives : final report

This report highlights the work carried out by UNIFEM and its partners throughout the lifetime of the project, Local Level Gender Responsive Budgets Initiatives. Local Governance and Decentralization: Programme Experiences and Views from the Field

This publication results from widespread participation in a UNDP network discussion entitled Towards a "Local Governance and Development Agenda: Lessons and Challenges". The report aims to summarize and disseminate this interesting e-discussion, and to link people, knowledge products and projects related to these relevant topics, from the local to the global area and vice versa.
