The subject of this analysis is the budget process in the Republic of Macedonia (RM), with emphasis on the reforms of budget policies in terms of gender equality and determining entrance points for integration of the gender into the budgeting process.
The series of Gender Briefing Notes is designed to help EC officials working in development cooperation to easily identify and address gender equality issues in specific sectors and thematic areas. This paper focuses on gender budgeting and its usefulness in the context of new aid instruments.
Guidelines which aim to offer a practice of gender mainstreaming in the budgetary process of policies and programmes drafted from different line ministries during the medium-term budgetary programme.
The programme was launched in late 2006 to strengthen democratic governance and promote women's human rights through support for policy planning and budgeting processes to incorporate a gender perspective.
